Am I Crawling? Well Almost!

So if I were to grade Kyle on his crawling efforts, he would definitely get an "E" for effort. In fact the kid is so smart, he's managed to do his own type of crawl. We call it the "butt scoot!" He has one leg, that is terribly rashed, tucked under his bootie while the other one is used to push. Once the pushing happens, he extends that tucked leg and starts the process over. (See pictures below to get an idea.) He's a genius I tell you. It isn't technically a crawl BUT the kid has it perfected to a science. HE IS EVERYWHERE IN RECORD TIME! As if that wasn't enough, he gets another "E" for effort in the trying to stand up department. Day to day is a new adventure for this little guy. Of course, he loves his adoring audiences and rewards them with a big smile for noticing his accomplishments.

Kyle's fifth tooth came in. He's drooling a lot so I'm sure more are coming. He's eating the Gerber meats pretty well. They are still soft like baby food, but at least he is acquiring the taste. He likes eating the star and wheel puffs. He can eat the wheel like a big boy, holding and chewing it well. The stars are really little so he has to get a little bit of help from mama with those. He's a sippy cup champ! No more drenched shirts! Kyle's specialty. . . playing! He can play forever! He loves his red wagon, walker, jump-a-roo, playing ball, and still plays with his toys like he's never seen them before.

On my first Mother's Day, Kyle was dedicated to our church, Chandler Christian Church. This means that the parents vow to raise him as a Christian. Kyle will decide later when he is ready to be baptized. This was a very special day for Team Schultz. Yes, I cried! :) Daddy and Kyle did a great job spoiling me on this day as well. I got to sleep in (Yes!!!!), had my car cleaned, breakfast made for me, AND they bought me a beautiful wake board! Yeah, my boys spoil me!

Kyle's "crawling" position. On your mark, get set, scoot!

I'm a movin' and a scootin'!

Kyle looks handsome in his "dedication" outfit!

Kyle loves his Mommy! Don't we look alike?!

Team Schultz and Pastor Roger on our big day!

Yahoo! I love this thing!

I love the open top to feel the wind in my hair!

This was an off day for Kyle! Usually it's not this messy. Daddy gets the "E" for effort on this one. Mommy was working late!

This is my favorite part of the book! Do it again, Daddy!

Here's What's New!

Kyle is doing great from his ear surgery! We are so glad that God helped us with this decision to do the procedure. He is like a new baby! Now if he can only cut those canines. Weird thing... he has his two bottom teeth and now he's cut the top right canine and is working on the left one. I'm pretty sure that's not the "usual" order of teeth growth, but whatever!

Kyle is officially a tummy sleeper now. We went in to check on him and were surprised to find our little man on his belly. When he woke up, he was surprised too! He still loves his jump-a-roo. He walks everywhere in his walker. He feels like a big boy when his mommy or daddy grabs his hand to walk with him. Still no crawling, but he's working on the butt scoot and 360 degree tummy turns. He can crawl backwards, but that just frustrates him more as his toys get farther away. He prefers to lean against things, tries to pull himself up, and walks with the help of people's hands. He just smiles away! Don't forget to check the "Our Growing Boy" link.

Peek a boo! I see you!

Just me and the boys!

Being silly with Gamma Carla!

Do you think Uncle Jon Jon is jealous? She LOVES me!

This is a mean look that is given by a 9 month old who DOESN'T want peaches for breakfast!

"So are you gonna give me bananas or what?"

Look at me... I'm good at doing irrigation!

I'm not worried that the water will go higher. My Daddy will save me!

Look at my new toy that Daddy got me!

This is AWESOME! My Daddy goes really fast!

"Hey Mommy! Can we go outside to play?"

This is me with my first allergic reaction. I'm allergic to my Auntie Nunu's tanning bed lotion. Ouch!

Kyle's Ear Procedure

Thank you so much to everyone for their thoughts and prayers today! Kyle's ear procedure was a success. The doctor mentioned that he cleared his ears from any and all fluid that has been lingering in there. He said that the right ear was pretty bad. Kyle was a big boy today! He was fussy after he woke up from his anesthesia, but once he had his TLC time and breakfast, he was good to go. Kyle actually took a 2 hour nap and woke up happy! This is something he hasn't been able to do for a long time. His ears were affecting his sleep. My baby is the smiley little guy that we know and love! Thank you again for your support! We love you all!

More of Kyle

Family and Friends~
Please keep Kyle in your prayers. On April 8th, he'll go to Banner Medical Center to have tubes put in his ears. While this procedure is common, the chance that our baby could possible endure pain is frightening. The pros of this surgery definitely outweigh the cons, but we still are a little nervous. Through every ear infection, Kyle has never lost his smile. Pray that this continues. We live to see "Kyle's smile!" See below for some updates and continue to check the "Growing Boy" to see his weekly pictures. - Team Schultz

This is my new sippy cup. I like to suck the water from the straw and then let it run out my mouth. Water is some good stuff.

I love drinking water like a big boy.

This is me and my Uncle Jon-Jon helping Dad get his new office furniture moved into his office.

This is the way my Nana Fucy showed me how to eat watermelon. Open wide and dig in!

Can you smell that? I think Mom needs to check my pants. Sorry Tata Tony!

Dad and I love to play.

Ahh, I still love my jump-a-roo. My longest is 134 jumps without stopping.

I thought this might be like my jump-a-roo, but I can't reach the ground yet. Seems kind of boring getting pushed back and forth.

My feet and toes continue to be my favorite toys.

Kyle's play time

This is my play-pen, yeah you can say I got a couple of toys. How can I ever get bored?

This is my walker, I can go backwards pretty well so far.

This is the brand new jump-a-roo that my Tata got for me. After seeing my video, he knew I just had to have one to play with at home.

I love my jump-a-roo. Thank you Tata Tony. Check out the chompers I grew myself (click on pictures for bigger view). That was not so fun.

After Kyle's evening walk

Menu update:

I get fruit in the morning. This one is called pears.

At night I eat vegetables, this one is peas.

Green vegetables are not that good.

Here is another green vegetable, green beans.

Kyle and the Jump-a-roo

Kyle loves to jump! This is an edited clip of a video Mom made at Kyle's school.

Video of Kyle playing with dad

Here is a quick video of Kyle playing with his Dad at Grandma's house. Uncle Mike was manning the camera and you can hear Uncle Dave making comments.

Relaxing outside in my stroller

I love being outside.

I like to read when I am outside. This is one of my favorite books.

This is a good part right here.

When I am done, I eat it.

Menu update: Carrots!

Carrots are not too bad.

In my mouth Nana Fucy, not my head. You almost got my hair!

Aunt Innie

I finally got to see my Aunt Innie again. It was too long. She came to visit us and we loved spending time with her. Sorry about the little bug that bit you. Dad says it was from Grandma's house, I believe him. Do you know who named her Aunt Innie? It was my Uncle Jon-Jon when he was only a little bigger than I am now. He got some time off work and I got to see him a lot too. It was great!

Dad's Home!

Dad finally came home from Barcelona, Spain. Talk about to long, I thought I would never get to play with him again. He was so happy to see me, I think he missed me too.
